The Past
GSM Graphic Arts first introduced digital art images into anodised aluminium in 2007. Although GSM had many years of experience in screen printing anodised aluminium, this had been confined to graphic reproduction of labels, nameplates, plaques and signs so the ability to reproduce photographic images into metal opened up a completely new medium for the creative industries.

The company recognised that working with art students was a way forward for both parties.

In August 2007 Primodise was given its first major public exposure in the UK when Leeds based artist Christopher Dayman presented his 'psychedelic art exhibition' at The Round Factory gallery in Leeds. Fourteen large format (1.5M x 1M) prints in anodised aluminium were suspended on steel rope at various points around the gallery, the medium reflecting the industrial heritage of the site.

Chris Dayman "They're all up and they look superb...So many people loved the print and the gradients were praised highly."

Elsewhere other artists from different backgrounds were taking notice.

Interpretation signs were an obvious choice due to the high level of weather resistance afforded by the anti-corrosion properties of anodised aluminium.

Commercial photographers across the globe also recognise that Primodise produces high-resolution images.

Matt Mason MTM Photography, New York  "I have just received it and I am very happy with it. It is such a unique process and I really love the end product. Thanks for everything."
