Interest has grown considerably but we have some way to go before we can consider
that Primodise is really “out there”. The response from those who have produced
work in anodised aluminium however is excellent and we are currently broadening
the appeal. Our customer base is growing.
Artist Phil Ogden now includes Primodise versions of his chalk and charcoal drawings
in his portrait portfolio, discovering that the process captures the subtlety
and clarity of his originals. At the other end of the scale botanical artist Marian
Durrans watercolour floral plates are vividly reproduced by the four- colour process
and sealed into aluminium are suitably weatherproofed for outdoor display.
Phil Ogden "I was suprised at the quality of photo-reproduction into anodised
aluminium. The prints retain all the subtley and detail of the original."
Marian Durrans "I'm not sure you can guild a lily but it was a good try."
A recent educational/community art project for
Cannock
School
in Staffordshire produced ten large artworks which were designed by the children
to be fitted in local underpasses.
Meanwhile we are now producing art/jewellery for Jane Adam and others who have
discovered the “factory” principle, originally advocated by Andy Warhol, is alive
and well and living in Thirsk.
During June and July 2009, GSM opened its doors to local artists, hosting a series
of open days to allow those working in creative industries to see the processes
and products first hand. We believe that discussion amongst the artists themselves
is the best way to spread the word. This has generated interest across a range
of disciplines: architects, community artists, metal sculpturers and indviduals
who are looking for something genuinely new to advance their artistic and professional
aspirations.
